BIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Israel, Yolit studied dance at an art school and fell in love with Flamenco as a teenager. She studied and performed in her native with teachers such as  Carmel Natan-Shelly, and Timo Luzano.

Upon arriving to the US in 2004, Yolit started studying and performing with Edwin Aparico's company - Flamenco Aparicio, as well as Anna Menendez's group - Pastora, performing in venues such as The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage, Sidney Harman Hall at Shakespeare Theater Company, Public Playhouse Theater, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Dance Place, Gala Hispanic Theater, Tablaos and Festivals.

Yolit has been studying in both the US and Spain with some of the most world renown Flamenco Maestros and maestras; Maria Juncal, Eli La Truco, Manolo Marin, Alfonso Losa, Domingo Ortega, Manuel Linen, Marco Flores,  Isabel Bayon, and Mercedes Ruiz, among others.

Yolit has been the lead teacher for the Flamenco program of American Dance Institute, and at CityDance School of Dance, since 2015 where she holds a Flamenco dance program for kids, youth and adults.

In September 2015, Yolit has established her own Students company- Alma Flamenca, and performs with her company in various  venues and festivals.

Monday 5:30pm- Flamenco 1, kids ages 6-10 years old

8:00pm- Alma Flamenca Company class, accompanied by a musician

Wednesday 6:30pm- Flamenco 2, youth ages 12-16 years old

7:30pm- Flamenco Technique, mixed levels. Footwork, Upper body, Compas, Turns, Marcaje, Posture

8:30pm- Choreography, levels Intermediate/Advance Inter, Accompanied by a musician

Saturday 11:00am- Adult Beginners, Spring session starts on March 16.

Private lessons are available upon request.
