This year, the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival of Massachusetts, Boston; Considered the most prestigious dance festival of the United States of America and directed by Mrs. Pamela Tatge, it will offer at its center a magnificent FLAMENCO PROGRAM of 15 days. 

This course will be taught by the famous Spanish teachers Carmen Ledesma and Carmela Greco; as well as Irene Rodríguez, who is the director of this program.

During the Workshop, with great rigor, emphasis will be placed on sticks (Palos) such as Seguiriya, Soleá, Alegrías, Bulerías, Guajiras, etc .; which will be taught in classes with live musicians. Likewise, the technique of Bata de Cola, Manila Shawl, Castanets and Pericón will be studied in depth, as well as lessons in drum percussion and educational talks about Flamenco. At the end of each week the dancers will have the pleasure of presenting what they worked in classes in the historic Outside Stage of Jacob's Pillow.

The main objective of the Jacob's Pillow Flamenco Program of 2019 is that the dancers after the experience of these 2 intensive weeks of classes can be even more prepared for their professional or teaching jobs in their respective centers or companies.

It is important to add that it is really wonderful the atmosphere of dance that is breathed in the Jacob's Pillow, the human quality of its directive and the love with which this Flamenco program has been conformed for all lovers of this genre so you should not lose this great opportunity to grow as an artist in this historic dance center.

Este año, el Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival de Massachusetts, Boston; considerado el más prestigioso festival de danza de los Estados Unidos de América y el cual dirige la Sra. Pamela Tatge, ofrecerá en su centro un magnífico PROGRAMA DE FLAMENCO de 15 días de duración.

Dicho curso será impartido por las afamadas profesoras españolas Carmen Ledesma y Carmela Greco; así como por Irene Rodríguez , la cual es directora de dicho programa.

Durante el Taller, con un gran rigor, se enfatizará en palos como la Seguiriya, Soleá, Alegrías, Bulerías, Guajiras, etc.; los cuales se impartirán en clases con músicos en vivo; así mismo, se profundizará en la técnica de Bata de Cola, Mantón de Manila, Castañuelas y Pericón, tanto como se impartirán lecciones de percusión de cajón y conversatorios educativos sobre Flamenco. Al final de cada semana los bailarines tendrán el placer de presentar lo trabajado en clases en el histórico Outside Stage del Jacob’s Pillow.

El principal objetivo del Jacob’s Pillow Flamenco Program del 2019 es que los bailarines después de la experiencia de estas 2 semanas intensivas de clases puedan estar aún más preparados para sus trabajos profesionales o docentes en sus respectivos centros o compañías.

Es importante añadir que es realmente maravilloso el ambiente de danza que se respira en el Jacob’s Pillow, la calidad humana de su directiva y el amor con que se ha conformado dicho programa de Flamenco para todos los amantes de este género por lo que no deberías perder esta gran oportunidad de crecer como artista en este histórico centro de danza.

This course assumes: tuition, lodging, food, participation in the shows during those 15 days in both rooms of Jacob's Pillow and travel from Lee, MA to the headquarters of Jacob's Pillow. When the dancers send the application for the program, they can also send a scholarship application for other types of expenses.

Dicho curso asume: matrícula, alojamiento, comida, la participación en los espectáculos que hayan durante esos 15 días en ambas salas del Jacob’s Pillow y viajar desde Lee, MA a la sede del Jacob’s Pillow. Cuando los bailarines envían la solicitud del programa, también pueden enviar una solicitud de beca para otro tipo de gastos.

2019 Application Deadlines

Feb 21, 4PM EST: Priority Consideration | $30 processing fee
Mar 28, 4PM EST: General Consideration | $40 processing fee
Jun 24, 4PM EST:  Late Consideration, space permitting | $55 processing fee

Program Tuition Fee | $1,500

The two-week tuition fee includes onsite room and board, free admission to Festival performances and events, and ground transportation from Lee, MA to Jacob’s Pillow in Becket, MA.

Jacob’s Pillow School Sponsors and Supporters make it possible to charge $750/week; far below the actual program cost of more than $5,000. If accepted, we will ask you to join us in letting these friends of The School at Jacob’s Pillow know how grateful we are for their support.
